People are choosing money as their friend,
trampling over other people
in order to tend to their love of materials,
and we wonder why people take from each other
hate each other, manipulate each other,
maybe we should look closer at ourselves.
Not facing the facts
because we don’t want to put rain on our day,
got too many problems of our own its easy to say,
roof over our heads its easy to say.
In this modern world we’re censored
from the consequences of our actions
we just cant see,
and if we can we choose to ignore
and live a life trying to justify our selfish reality.
In this modern world we dodge responsibility,
following in the shadows of people
that are holding authority.
But when are we going to wake up and realise
the havoc that we’re bringing about
in our children’s lives?
The media is painting a picture of this world
that is out of focus,
even though the majority of us know this
we can only make sense of what we’re told.
To an extent we’re being controlled.
Fashions, ambitions are sold
to pay those who can afford,
while those in poverty are still living
life by the sword.
The next generation looks up to us,
but who are they going to be able to trust
in this world that we’re creating
fuelled by Satan.
How many brothers do we need to bury
before we see sense in peace?
